The city of Coffeyville is located in Montgomery County. It holds a population of 11,060 and covers 7.1 square miles. It is home to a lot of city history, from the first creation of the Icee Machine, to the killing of the Dalton Gang on October 5, 1892. The local Historical Society maintains the Dalton Defenders Museum, which holds the history of Coffeyville. Historic Murals are painted on the sides of buildings all through-out Coffeyville. The city is also home to the Aviation heritage Museum, it houses the Funk aircraft, created by Joe and Howard Funk in Coffeyville. The fly-in for the Funk owners is held in Coffeyville. Other historic buildings include the Perkins Building, the Brown Mansion, and Midland Theater.
Home of the Red Raven, Coffeyville is home to many college students attending Coffeyville Community College. The college offers a two-year degree program and a huge selection of courses. The local K-12 School District is USD 445. It consists of Community Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, and Field Kindley High School.
