Fall River, a small community, is located just off Highway 400 in Greenwood County, Kansas. Fall River has a population of 145 people, so the kids in that area go to the schools in nearby Fredonia. Farming and ranching is what keeps Fall River going but most choose to commute to work outside of the area.
Fall River does have a restaurant/bar, a bank and post office, a medical center, machine shop and community building. Fall River is definitely the image of rural living. The ability to experiencing the great outdoors is everywhere you turn. It is just a few miles from Fall River State Lake and Park and around 35 miles from the Eureka City Lake and nature trail. Nearby Otter Creek and Fall River also offers great outdoor fun. Fall River also has their annual Fall River Barbeque with a rodeo, parade, arts and crafts fair, and the Miss Fall River contest and dance. It is held annually on the third Saturday in September. .
