Jeff Lange Real EstateFreeport, a very small community in Harper County, was founded in 1885 and has a population of 6. Because their population is so small, they are “the smallest incorporated city in the U.S.A. having a bank.” This bank, the Freeport State Bank, started in 1902 and is still in business. The other business in town is the grain elevator across the street. There is the Presbyterian Church in town that still has a membership of 60 people, and the actual church building is in the National Registry of Historic Places.
