Goddard, a larger community in Kansas, is located in Sedgwick County just west of Wichita on Highway 54/400. Goddard was established in 1883 and its current population is about 3,550 people. This city has been named the “fastest growing city in KS” by the US Census in 2003.
Goddard has nationwide recognition for its school systems. It has many choices for elementary schools and a very reputable, large high school with about 1,220 kids who attend. Goddard schools are known for providing excellent education with innovative teaching and great technology to boost their students learning. There is also a Catholic school available if public is not your choice.
Goddard also has many activities for all ages. A new attraction is the Tanganyika Wildlife Park. It is partially open, with new exhibits being built. Goddard also has its own pool, public library, and 6 churches. Some of Goddard’s community events include the Goddard Fall Festival with parade, Junior Athletic Leagues, the Pancake Feed, Lions Club, and Lake Afton Park is only 10 minutes away.
Goddard’s businesses are growing and that creates employment opportunities for everyone. This is part of the reason that Goddard’s median household income is about $7,000 more than the Kansas average and that in 2007 over 50 new buildings were built. This is a great city that is growing rapidly, an ideal place to start a business and raise a family.
