Harper, a community in Harper County, has a population of about 1,500 people. This city has a rich history following a Sergeant from the Civil War. Sergeant Marion Harper was killed in 1863 in a Civil War battle in Arkansas and the town and county were named for this heroic man. Harper has a great location with highway US -160 running east and west through town and K-14 along the west side, and K-2 running northeast straight into Wichita.
