Sedgwick, a community just north of Wichita, KS, has a population of 1,640 people. Sedgwick is located in south central Harvey County on the border with Sedgwick County and within a triangle of Hutchinson, Newton, and Wichita.
This town has a great school system with the R. L. Wright Public Elementary School and the Sedgwick High School. It also has great opportunities for secondary education due to its location. There are 7 colleges or universities nearby. Hutchinson Community College also offers classes in Sedgwick.
Sedgwick has a great business community. It just added its 2nd addition to its Industrial Park and the town houses over 50 businesses. Sedgwick also has great entertainment and fun activities for all ages. For those young kids there is the Water Spray Park for those hot and sunny afternoons. For those young at heart there is a Senior Center for activities such as Bingo. They have also proposed building a brand new facility. Sedgwick also has 4 churches and the Lillian Tear Library. The Fall Festival happens annually and includes a parade, craft show, car show, and the historical society museum is opened. Sedgwick takes great pride in their small town, their activities, their businesses, and their lifestyle.
