Jeff Lange Real EstateWhitewater, a small community located just northwest of Wichita, KS. The 2006 population was 641 people. Whitewater has a unique history. The town was located on the Whitewater River but later moved several buildings several miles to be located where the trains would intersect. The trains drove this small economy, which now thrives off of their close proximity to Wichita. Whitewater is just 23 miles from Wichita, 30 miles from the Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, and 15 miles from the Amtrak Train Station in Newton. This allows for easy and great transportation to and from the city.
Whitewater has a small school system allowing for more one on one time with the teachers. Remington Middle School, grades 5-8, has 187 students with Frederic Remington High having 150 students. This allows children to be active in many extra-curricular activities while at school.
Whitewater also has the Whitewater Memorial Library along with the Bank of Whitewater. With the average travel time to work being 30 minutes, this allows many people to enjoy the small town quiet life while having a job in a neighboring city.
