Yoder, a small community in Reno County, was founded in 1889. It is a small community with Amish roots surrounding the town. This allows for many homemade items to be sold in the community. Much of the shops and restaurants are for tourism.
Yoder is known for its Amish heritage along with its great restaurant the Carriage Crossing. It is homemade food and served with a smile. It has an Amish style to the restaurant with a store made of souvenirs from the farms. There is another shop with unique gifts, Country Traditions. There is the Yoder Candle Company that sells candles in an old fashioned way with a modern twist. Yoder Meats is another attraction from all around the community that sells meat that was raised on the local farms.
Yoder is also the home to many community wide events that showcase its heritage. The most wide-known and busiest event is Yoder Heritage Day. It happens once a year but is quite a showcase of the Amish way of life. There is the Parade of Quilts, the Farmers market, and the Night of Nativities.
